Tyre Pressure Drop??

Driving down to Devon today, stopped at petrol station and dash said -4 psi offside front. Checked with my handheld digi gauge and it was the same as the nearside front. Both correct. Now says -6 and, when tested again, both at same correct pressure. Dodgy sender? How do you change them please?
 
The sensors are temperature compensating .. so as your tyre heats up due to being initially unerinflated it’s quite possible a manual pressure gauge will read a different pressure. The tyre pressures need to be adjusted when cold .. I would suggest adding 4 psi to the offending tyre after the vehicle has stood for 12 hours to see it that corrects the alert. The tyre may also possibly have a self sealing puncture which would explain the initial alert on the dash.

Might be worth checking with a different gauge in case yours is out of calibration and reading high.
 
I tested both front tyres with it and they read the same although the tps says the offside needs 6psi.
 
Sorry if it’s a daft question as I’m in the same position and not driven since pumping the tyres up due to a hernia surgery, does the warning light go off itself when the car is driven and the sensors pick up the new readings or do I need to do anything?

Usually you need to drive the car in excess of 15 mph and then recalibrate them.
 
I pumped up all four tyres to the correct levels. Now all fine and no puncture. Just got back home and my wife’s car parked on the drive with a split in the sidewall (the kerb clearly won!). Now awaiting BMW breakdown to sort it out as the white gunge didn’t seal it.
 
Hi - I had this problem a while ago with my 991.1 (now have a 991.2). I kept getting false tyre pressure readings on random tyres despite the pressures being correct. Solution suggested to me by a club member on the forum was to re-set the tyre types summer/winter to different then drive a short distance and re-set back to correct tyre type. This I did and it cleared the problem which never happened again. Coincidence maybe but it worked. Worth a try.
