Tyre pressure monitoring and track days

Michelin recommended that I drop the pressure in my Sport Cups to 2.3 all round when hot (2.1 cold)on track. Problem was TPM did not like this and kept warning me pressures were too low which was very annoying because at one stage it was showing pressure as 3bar and still saying pressure too low (temperature adjusted). On the Hangar straight at Silverstone I was briefley touching 145 MPH+ before breaking for Stowe and when glancing down at the instruments you have a red light and and a yellow light glowing at you, very disconcerting.

Apparently there is no way of switching the TPM off in the car so went to my OPC on Saturday to discuss. They came up with the idea or resetting the target pressure for the winter tyre settings at 2.1 so this means when I am using my road tyres I use the summer tyre setting (2.3,2.7) and when using my track tyres I use the winter tyre setting (2.1,2.1) It only took them 2 minutes to do this and hopefully will solve the glowing light problem on the track and still allow me to use TPM. The other option was to switch TPM off alltogether.

OPCs often take some stick on this and other forums but I have to say my experience at Bournemouth has always been excellent and they are unfaillingy helpful

Gary wasnt it nice to see the Turbo leave everything in its dust at Millbrook and match the GT3 lap time at Bedford. What will the GT2 do?

Bob, I see a similar thread on the GT3 section, I hope their OPCs are as helpful as yours at Bournemouth [:)] great result from them...

Yes great result from the numbers at Millbrook, I've read that apparently the GT2 is very similar to the numbers the TT produces [8D] or should that be [&:] from a 130K car....
