Tyre Pressure Monitoring

My S2 997 doesn't appear to have tyre pressure monitoring at all. It simply doesn't appear in the list of options. I thought it was a standard feature? Is it an option?

Unfortunately on the Gen 2 997 tyre pressure monitoring was an option. I bought for our little Peugot mini people carrier (Bipper) a system from Maplin for £99 called FoboTire. It is wireless and has a receiver for the car which is battery powered and they say lasts for 2 years and it there is an iPhone and android app so you can see the readings on your smartphone. Really quite impressed and very much better than Tyrepal units I have used before. The transponders that go on the valve caps are unobtrusive and the fixings are all nylon so no problem with corrosion which we had with the tyrepal.

Thanks for this. That's what I needed to know. It was in the manual so I was surprised when I couldn't get at it!

I'll take a a look at the maplin system, it sounds good. [:)]

Hi Paul,

I researched this quite a bit on the www (not directly with the OPC) and it doesn't seem an easy addition if not originally provided from the inception date.

However there are many aftermarket kits available just search eBay for "TPM" or "tire pressure monitoring".

I purchased this system as I didn't want the tire monitors to be seem like some of the other aftermarket systems.

It plugs in to the cigarette lighter socket. I also noted others that have a standard switch sized display that could fit well in to the 997 switch area.
