Tyre pressures for 7 & 9's

I'm currently running 7 & 9" Fuchs on my 3.2 coupe with 29 & 44 (manual recommended) pressures and wondered if anyone else had played around with pressures and found at better set up for normal driving.

I haven't felt any adverse effects but 44 seems on the high side for the rears especially as it's only a coupe

Cheers

U used to run mine at 36 rear with no problem and a bit more comfort.

Another Lady 911 driver, good to see! My partner unfortunately cant reach the pedals on mine so is unable to drive it, shame i would have liked her to be able to enjoy it to, may have the seat runners modified.!

Sorry, but I'm a definitely a bloke, It's a nickname given to me by my mates as it refers to the shape of my nose and the way I used to swoop on women (the eagle) when I was a we lad.

My misses won't drive a manual, big shame but what can one do [;)]

I'll try out 36, thx

HA ha my appologies![:D]

Nice looking 911 to! Also is it such a bad thing that the women cant drive our cars!!![:D]

I run my 3.2 at 29F 36R.

From what I have heard that running different size wheels makes no difference to the required air pressure. The weight of the vehicle has more to do with it.

I have been advised my a guy with alot of race car experience (a pit guy for a 911 race team) that he runs a lower pressure up front in his 930. IIRC he said 27F. I am going to try this pressure when I get some more seat time in my 3.2. I have only recently got it back together & I have it apart again changing the flexi oil lines to the cooler up front. I also have a sticky front brake caliper which needs attention as this will affect handling too.

I was wrongly advised years ago to run less than 36 in the rear by a so called Porsche tyre specialist. Idiot... I thought the tyre was going to come off the rim.

the owner's manual for the 1985 Carrera recommends 29F and 36R - I run at that and it seems to work. On the street that is.
btw, noted the comment above about the little woman not being able to reach the pedals. Mine has the same problem! Is there a solution? or should I start another thread?

Nah, think yourself lucky. My beloved is far too scared to occupy the drivers seat in mine.
Result.
