Tyre pressures for AD08Rs

Hi,

I've just switched over to Yokohama AD08R tyres for the 17" Cup alloys on my C2.

I've started with the pressures at the Porsche recommended 36psi all round, but my sense is the front doesn't have the same grip that I've been used to (even from fairly worn and quite old SO2s - great tyres, shame you can't get them anymore).

I bought myself a cheapie infrared digital thermometer, so I can check whether the tyre temperatures are reaching an even level across the tread, but can anyone with experience of this tyre/wheel/model combination recommend some good pressures to start with, please?

Thanks,

I run my tyres at around 33 psi on the road, front and rear to good effect. Many people go as low as 29/31 front/rear, especially on track but that is a little too soft on my car for road use, i find (same wheels as yours). Don't forget that new tyres can sometimes take a frustratingly long time to really bed in and a full tread depth often moves around a little compared with part-worn tyres.

Persevere, lower the pressures a bit and try not to think about it too much and I bet you'll soon be happier.

Thanks for the great advice. I have high expectations as I've read some great things about these tyres!
