tyre pressures - tt.

I've searched everywhere so I hope this hasn't already been done.

Can anyone recommend tyre pressures for a 993tt? I've seen lots on here about S and 4S pressures but nothing specific to the tt (if it's different?).

Also I assume there's more 993tt guys on here than the turbo thread.

I used to run 38,36 on my 993 4S and that was fine and wondered if I could do that on the turbo also....

Will be checking perssures tonight but I think it's on the standard 44, 36 at the moment and it's rock hard!!!

Have also been experimenting with different tyre pressures as when on standard 36,44 its "loose fillings" time - have been running between 3 to 4 Ilb less and they feel much better - don't know what it'll do to tyre life though. How's the new TT (a good friend of mine - Malcolm - has just bought your C4S) It was interesting to hear about "your experience" with Strasse regarding part ex etc as I bought my C2S off them last year.

Hi Robert

After having a look around I went to take the pressures down to 39,34 last night but when I measured them they were already at 38,33!! I can't imagine how ridiculous the ride would be 44,38 or whatever porsche say.
I'll check another reading from a different petrol station over the weekend I think.

On the plus side the handling is fantastic - so much more sure footed than the 4S at high speed, I swear the shocks must have been replaced at some point as it's done 58k miles but I can't see any receipt for it.

Yeah the car's fantastic thanks Robert - I'm still getting used to the power at the moment but even ignoring that it's a fantastic all-rounder.. the steering, suspension and gear change all seem to gel better than the carrera though of course that could be condition etc.

Give my regards to Malcolm - I'm ringing him this week anyway to get MOTs etc to him for the 4S.

The part-ex stage of the upgrade to the TT wasn't pleasurable Robert as you know - thank heavens for Malcolm! Strasse have been great in preparing the new car mind and after driving it all day yesterday I know I've got a good 'un! [:)]

Thats good news - I must admit that I had quite a good experience with Strasse - got the part ex value that I thought was fair for my Boxster S and the price of the C2S was fair too. Am just about to put new shocks etc on the car as one of the rears is one the way out so thought would take the opportunity toe replace the lot - hopefully it will make quite a difference as it can get a bit vague at speed at the moment.

Thanks Maurice - so these recommendations are the same for S's and TT's?

Own pressure gauge - good idea.
