Tyre pressures

What tyre pressures should I be running on my boxster, 17's 205 at front 255 rears. I could look it up in the book but I keep forgetting to.

My 2001 S has the chart on the inside of the front boot lid.

(29F/36R as well - and you shouldn't need to look it up, you should be checking often enough to know it off by heart [;)])

Hi Guys new to this my first post. Have read in some car mag this week about using Nitrogen in the tyres, same as racing cars apparently, since it doesn't change pressure with temperature. A number of garages are supposed to offer this, anyone know anything about it ?

I think I read a few years back that Halfords offered this service, or something that sounded very similar

Is there a sticker under your front boot lid? That's where ithe info is on mine.

It should be 29F 36R for all wheel sizes if I recall.

I've got the same wheels on my 986, (but with Michelin Pilot Sports), and the pressures are 29F, 36R as Mark suspected. The tyre pressure info sticker on mine is inside the drivers' door opening, just above the latch.

All this talk of tyre pressures has got me wondering: where/how do I get hold of a pressure gauge that is accurate? Those built in to most cigarrette-light socket compressor thingies are useless since they max out at 200 or even 300psi, so telling the difference between 29 and 36 is almost impossible. Even 1 or 2psi will make a difference to these tyres and at circa £200 a pop, you want to get it right!

I got a good analogue (dial) display one from a motor racing supplier (either Demon Tweeks or Grand Prix Racewear)

Analogue is more accurate in this case as the digital ones only show to the nearest 1 lb, or 1/2 lb, whereas you can see that it is spot-on or not with a dial.

On my 2004 Boxster S, they were on a label on the inside of the petrol flap. That had 18" wheels, (235's on the front and 265's on the rear) and the pressures were 29psi front and 36 psi rear
