tyre recommendations. N1 or Not?

p27549

New member
My Turbo has original 16" fuch with Fulda tyres on the front with Continental N1 on the rear. The fronts will soon require replacement and am enquiring what you guys are using.
Continental still do the N1 approved tyre (rare) but is there a better tyre out there for normal driving.
Should the N1 still be used?

Thanks

TIM

Matching sets of high quality tyres are the best option - I still like Bridgestone SO2s.
On the older 911s, such as the 930, don't get too hung up on the N rating.
However...... do be careful; I heard of one insurer who (allegedly) tried to get out of paying a claim because the Porsche in question didn't have N rated tyres, so it may well be worth checking.

Thanks John.
Will have to talk with my insurance company ref the tyres. Will then have to ensure the load rating is correct.

Cheers

Tim

I am using Toyo T1Rs - grip and response are great. Good value tyres too!.

I have a list of mods as long as my arm that I declare to the insurers - choice of tyres has not been raised!
