TYRE SIZE RECOMMENDATIONS

Hey Guys, need some new rubber for my SC, does any one know the best tyre sizes for front and rear on 16" Fuchs. My cars a bit of a running project when I bought it so not sure if they are running on correct size at the moment
cheers Michael

Hi Michael,
My handbook states the front to be 205/55 VR 16and rear as 225/50 VR 16.
When I bought the car it had 225s on the front but they rubbed on the wheel arch under full lock, so I reverted to the book sizes. They have been fine.
Hope this helps.

It depends on what width Fuchs your car has on it. I think the standard sizes were 6" & 7" which would take 205/55 & 225/50 however quite a few of these cars now have 8" or even 9" wide wheels on the rear which take 245/45.

I run 225/50 & 245/45 Toyo Proxys with no problems.

Hi Doug, I'm about to replace my rears which are on 7" wide rims, currently have 225's fitted would I get away with anything wider on these rims do you think, just to fill the arch that bit more (already got 15mm spacers on) but another 5-10mm would look nice.

Hi Nick

The problem is that the next available size up is 245 which needs 8 or 9" Fuchs. The best option would probably be 25mm spacers as 8's don't look that different to 7's when viewed from the outside, as far as the dish is concerned.

Do a search on Pelican, theres loads of Fuchs info on there [;)]
