Whats the correct tyre size for a 1988 944 2.5 lux?
The car has got the standard 15 inch teledials.
Thanks,
Andrew.

My dads car has the same wheels as yours and runs 195/60/15 on the front and 215/60/15 on the rear, exactly what I run but I have cookie cutters.

215/60/15, but it depends what reference you look at. Ive bought a car from an OPC that theyd fitted a pair of 195/65/15 Continentals to... 195/60 and 205/60 are both certainly incorrect sizes though: and a 2,500cc Lux shoud run similar sized tyres on both front and rear wheels. The very first 944s came fitted with 185/70/15s, but these were superceded by the larger size for the 1983 model year.

My lux is fitted with 195/65/15 conti's and i have a spare set of wheels fitted with 225/70/15's but ive always thought the 195/65/15 was the correct size for the lux.

Im confident that its 215/60/15 Jonathan, but it really depends which owners manual /market youre looking at.

I cant remember what the manual for my series two said (that the OPC had fitted with 195 contis before selling it), but I have an American manual here and it states 215s with 195s mentioned only as snow tires (sic). My 924S handbook ststes that 195/65/15s were the correct fitment for a 1986/1987 model, which was running on 6" ATS wheels, as opposed tot he 944's 7" rims.

My german handbook states 195/65/15 for summer (sommerreifen) and 215/60/15 for winter(winterreifen) for the 7" rim.
