Apologies for being stupid.

Looking at changing all 4 tyres, atm i have 265/35/18 on rear and 235/40/18 on front, is this ok? not sure why 35 and 40, can anyone advise please.

Cheers

Wider wheels and tyres on the rear. If the same profile circumference would change and wheels turn at different speeds

There not quite right, if its a 987 then the 18" wheels should have 40 section tyres front and back. If it's a 981 then they should be 45 section.

Just go on to a tyre retailer website like Blackcircles, input your registration number and it will give you the correct tyre size, speed and load rating and manufacturer options for your car.

Yes that’s right. I just had 4x Pirelli PZeros fitted on my 987 and they are 18“ and 40 section. BTW the Pirelli/PCGB promo scheme is excellent and as you have to go to a dealer who is an appointed Pirelli performance centre they are trained on Porsches and other top marques. My local one was brilliant and included a 4x wheel alignment check. I had to pay for slight adjustment on all the wheels, but works out way cheaper than the OPC charge of £190. Incidentally I was told that BlackCircles are often able to undercut tyre prices because some of their stock is on older date stamps, don‘t know if that’s true, but might be worth checking up on….
