Tyre Sizes

The drilled discs thread got slightly hijacked with discussion regarding tyre sizes, So I though I would start a fresh thread.

As a picture is worth a thousand words, the below picture shows how tight the 225/50 on a 7x16 rim is on the front. The 245/45 rears on a 9x16 (with a 7mm spacer) on the otherhand have plenty of room.

Sorry can't help, but interested in seeing the car once you have done all the mod's

Those are huge great wheels for a Carrera.

Are you sorted for spacers? I have a set of 26 / 31mm that may be for sale.

Email me if your interested.

Chances are that if they are the original wheels they are 7x16.

A picture would help, or better still the number off the inside of the wheel.

Chris pretty sure they are the original wheels.Cant give you any nos at mo as they are in the tyre shop.I asked the shop to get me in 225/50s but when i went to get them fitted at 2pm on sat i asked the fitter if it would be possible to fit 245s.As it was after lunch time on a sat the fitter said he wasnt sure but he would check with the supplier on mon morning. In the meantime i thought i would check here.
