Tyre Wear 993 C4

Hi,
A question for C4 owners out there.

My 993 C4 runs on Toyo Proxes on 18 inch(GT3) rims, inflated to Porsche recommended pressures. In all other respects the car is standard specification. When I bought the car it had good fronts and worn rears. I therefore replaced the rears with similar tyres. The rears needed replacing after a further 7000 miles. The fronts are still good. I drive in a spirited fashion, but no faster than I did in my previous 944 Turbo....The tyres on this (Bridgestone S02s) lasted approx 20,000 miles. I'm satisfied with the tyres performance..Wet and dry.

Is this wear rate typical of the C4s? or should I be thinking of another tyre?

Thanks for any tips.

Not sure if the 18's with the lower side walls tend to have higher wear, but I tend to get about 14k miles out of my rears and 20k out of the fronts from Contis.

Alan,

I have Pirelli P Zero Rosso's and so far i've had 12,000 miles out of the fronts but i replaced the rears after around 9,000.
