Tyre wear and pressures

My rear tyres (P Zeros) have done ~ 4000 miles. I can see significant wear in the middle but very little at the edges. Pressures are at the recommended 44 psi.

I don't do tracks,..... yet. I am not a maniac but like accelerating hard in a straight line.

Is this normal or are the pressure too high ?

Stephen,

I had a 993 targa with 17" wheels and kept the pressures at 36 psi all round, I think I am righht in saying that 44psi for the rears is with 18" !!!

If they re wearing in the middle means they ARE overinflated .............with normal suspension settings even with enthusiastic motoring 10 00 miles is not unreasonable to expect ...................torrent of abuse coming however i aim to run my rossos ,simila car,to and from work at 32 hot all round !
Try it and see ,fronts start about 28 or 29 ,rears 27 or 28 cold .................

Yes, they are 18in P Zero Rosso

Do you think I should compromise and run them around 40 PSI rear and say 34 front
