First of all thanks for previous replies guys, I have whittled the choice down to the following:

GoodYear F1 GSD2 - Reccomendid by local tyre company as a good alrounder but with a soft compound - however im not to comncerned with tyre wear rate as i dont use this car for work, mores the pity.

Toyo Proxes T1 - S - Apparentley a good selling tyre at a good price - I know TVRs use them but I work near a garage that repairs TVRs and theres a lot of em with smashed.

again i would appreciate any further imput

Cheers Guys

Assuming you're on standard wheels, what year Turbo?

Slim has Toyos on his, but that was only because the Goodyears aren't available in 250 Turbo rear size. Anyhow perhaps he'll comment when he sees the thread.

Edit Just looked at your other post and your car is the same years as Slim's. You don't mention that you have non-standard wheels so I assume you're looking for 245 x 16" rears. That being the case then based on Slim's experience you have no choice - Toyos it is.

You can get GSD2 on 245/45-16 but NOT GSD3s, the the 3s are twice the tyre to be honest. The GSDs dont get a great write up.

The Toyos seem pretty good, not really done any great mileage in them, but the hang on pretty well.

As for TVRs being smashed up, i really doubt thats got anything to do with the tyres, more to do with lack of skill on the drivers part!!! No tyre can stop 350bhp and 1100kg car from heading off the road especially as they have no TC or ESP etc.

The toyos are probe about £80 a set cheaper than the F1s, so why not give them a try first and worst case you can get the F1s next time round of you dont like them.

Cheers
