Tyres - Goodyear Eagles?

Can of worms time I suspect..... so I'll get my umbrella at the ready!!

I realise that no Goodyear tyre has a Porsche N rating - but I've used the Eagle F1 tyre on previous cars with much success. Certainly their wet weather grip, and positive "feel" is better than I've noted on many other tyres.

Anyone running these on their 993? Comments? Suggestions??

I'm using GS-D3s on my 996 at the moment and I think they're brilliant: Superb wet weather grip, much quieter than the previous Contis or P-zeros, and appear to be lasting much longer too - 12,000 miles plus so far and rears only look about half worn!

Since buying them (on the recommendation of a local tyre fitter who has fitted them to several 911s) I have been warned that there could be an insurance implication (non-standard tyres), but I think if push came to shove Goodyear would have something to say about it...
