Tyre's, not much of a choice !

Hi, I am look for the experience of the forum members to help me out please once again , thanks in advance ??
I have started taking part in track days which I enjoy , only two a year with the club. I have up graded my pads , hoses , GT3 air ducts but my current tyres are rubbish once hot. They are bridgsrone s001 tyres, with 4mm left on the tread. I own another set of 19 inch wheels with winters on. The plan was to either remove the winters and use track day tyres , or buy ultra high performance road tyres for the summer and run my sorretos in winter. Well I have quickly found there isn't much choice out there ??. I am limited to either what I have , which are terrible at speed, no steering feel, in the wet , bumpy and noisy or Pirell which in my opinion are as equally as bad. Then there is the last choice , Michelin ps4s which I know will be the best road tyre from experience , but has anyone used on track?
So I am looking for comments about ps4s tyres on a c2 cab 997.1 08 on track and road performance.
Any alternative? Places to purchase, I was looking at £540 for the rears and £300 for the front?
Thanks for your help team , many thanks in advance

I used PS4’s on my last GT3, not quite as good as the Cup 2 tyre, but a better all rounder especially in the wet & defo better than Pirelli’s on the track.

I used to run Bridgestone Potenza RE50 on a 997 GTS Cab and did 16 trackdays in 18 months and total 15k miles before I decided another type of Porsche was better for frequent track use. At that time Michelin had not homologated a better tyre for the 997. Gratuitous picture at Spa.

Nice ??Thats a place I want to go and try out, it's on my list. I will probably have upgraded the car before I visit Spa, looks awesome ?? I am having fun with my 997 cab so far , I was thinking of a GTS in the future 991 or Cayman. Anyway I digress, thanks for the replies, looks like the ps4s is the way to go for now, many thanks.

Hi stephen
so if I’ve understood you , you want summer track day tyres you can use on road . Michelin cup 2 are without doubt best IMO , I put them on my 997.2 GTS on 19 inch wheels and they were superb for road and track in summer ( obviously they came as standard on my GT3 and would not have anything else fitted )
you may not be able to get them N rated in your size - check out Black Circles website for tyres and fitting .
if you want N rated and Cup 2 not available I would go for PS4 - I will be changing the Pirellis on my 718 Boxster for PS4 shortly ( and do about 3 track days a year in car ) as cup 2 are not N rated in my size but N rating may not bother you

Thanks for the replies , it's good to hear the experience of previous users and it appears I am on the right track (forgive the pun).

Hi Stephen

I moved to PS4s on 19” wheels, gen1 C2s some time ago. Never looked back. At that time, N rated were not available in my size(prob. still the case), but I’m in an unwarranted gen. 1 so made no difference to me. I also had a geometry set up at center gravity on the new tyres. Best expenditure in my lengthy ownership.

Thanks for your response, that's exactly what I was looking for, many thanks. Can I ask you've had your car on the Hunter laser alignment? The centre of gravity , how did they do that please?
