I run front 225/50/16 zrn contisport on BBS spider alloys...recommended pressure for the original teledials was 29psi, which I stick to from about now, as the weather is warmer, but add another 3psi in cold weather. At the rear are 245/45/16 contisport on the BBS spider alloys but at 36psi, once again I`ld add about 3psi in winter.

With 17" wheels on a 944 try 32psi front and 34psi rear +/- 2psi depending on how stiff or soft your tyre walls are
32 front 34 rear spot on on my car (17" 911 Cup 2's ).

When I first got my 1990 S2 I followed the book figures and quickly wore out the centre of my rear tyres. 44psi is WAAAAAAY too high in my opinion and we've had lots of discussion that maybe Porsche were covering themselves for possible high speed blowouts for prolonged 150mph cruising on the Autobahn.
Since then I've followed the pre '89 figures of 36 front and rear on 16" wheels and had no problems in over 80k miles and much more even wear (better rear grip too [])
