What Tyres are people using? I am in need of new tyres front and rear - Having trouble sourcing both from the same manufacturer. 205/55/15 front and 225/50/15 rear..? any suggestions that don't cost a fortune..?

My S2 is on 16" and I've had two sets of Bridgestones that were satisfactory. At the latest renewal they were either not both available or had become too expensive so I looked at other makes on Black Circles. Because of their commitment to motor sport I ordered Avons, reasonable price and good wet grip figures. When they arrived they were branded Cooper (the US owners of Avon now) but they are just fine and dry grip on a recent session at Prescott Hill Climb was much better than the 8 year old Bridgestones...

Ref the branding, the issue of who owns what in the tyre business has got a bit complicated...

Yes, the number of options for 15" wheels seems to be diminishing, and finding both front and rear sizes of the same tyre, well, I couldn't find any either. This may be controversial, but discussion with a garage owner recently suggested that as long as the tyres are a decent quality (A name you've heard of..) and the tread patterns are very similar, mixing makes front to rear is not a terrible idea. NEVER mix on the same axle, of course. It looks like this may be your only option other than sourcing some 16" wheels, but that can be a minefield too because the different diameter 944 wheels also have very different offsets, so aren't interchangeable without other measures. Someone with more knowledge of wheel sizes will maybe turn up with a better solution though....

Hi, these are Non standard sizes (Smaller Diameter) what rims and widths are they front & Rear?

R

The car is on the optional Fuchs wheels - 15 inch rims (not sure of the widths) and it sits nicely on those tyres - unfortunately they are out of date, and not viable for a planned trip to an event in Greece in September.

I’m thinking of widening my search criteria to include 205/60/15 and 225/55/15… but 15” seems to be the issue here - i would welcome any suggestios
