Tyres ?

Been a while since last post. Had my C4S for a while now and will soon be needing a new set of tyres. Would value your opinions on what to go for.

Thanks

Bridgestone for me too. If you have someone you can trust to fit them for a reasonable price Camskill have Michelins at a good price and Pneus online for Bridgestone. My local (I do trust them!) will fit and balance all 4 for £50 but he will usually match any price I get from the internet anyway so it's easier to let him do the whole thing!![:)]

I would agree that Bridgestone S-02 is the way to go.

They are relatively cheap and wear well.

I paid £115 + Vat for the fronts and £190 + Vat for the rears last year.

I think, if we are talking 997 19" tyres here, that the Bridgestones are the RE 050 A's which, sadly, are rather more pricey![:(] Currently around £280 for the rears.

A few months ago i had to change all 4 tyres, and as I couldn't get Michelins, i opted for the Bridgestones - just over £1,000 fitted IIRC.

N-rated in sizes 265/35/19 and 305/30/19, I think (997 C4s Gen 1)

?Interested in any thoughts on what summer tyres are best/preferred for GT-style driving (997 TT) - mainly long motorway hauls versus B roads.
Having swapped out various Michelin N1 tyre pairs over last few years the price of £970 for a rear pair after discount has me wondering if it would be better value to change 4 in one go and maybe even consider other makes. Personally have been quite happy with Michelin PS, and preferred them to Pirelli (although 996 so not like-for-like comparison). The PS are documented as being problematic when cold but apart from managing that, no issues with grip. Road noise is quite acceptable in my view. A Feb. GT Porsche article seems to rate the latest version highly and after all Porsche has been involved in their development.
