TYRES

I use Continental Sport Contacts on my 944T and find them to be great tyres. There’s grippier tyres out there, but these are very hard-wearing and a good compromise for daily driving, plus they are exceptionally good in the wet. Important where we live!

I have Continentals on my 2.7 I run on 17" and have found them to be satisfactory and have no issues I bought them from Jim Dicksons in Cumbernauld village and paid £220 for the fronts inc ,do say you are a Porsche member and even mention the CASH word and Gordon Campbell he gets all his tyres from him .This is the second time I have bought tyres from him and no one came close . Before you do anything contact the official OPC and say you are having difficulty in obtaining the original tyres ,as there have been a good many posts in the forum of people being offered by Porsche a set of Bridgestones for the price of two .It is worth a go

My Cayman came with Conti's, not a tyre I've ever used before, and I like them a lot. Enough in fact to buy a second set, and also to put them on the Audi too. I was surprised how fast the rears wore out on the Cayman, less than 10k miles, so I guess the N spec tyres are a very soft compound, and this probably applies to all the N spec tyres from other manufacturers. PS ... you can borrow my Hermes Birkin if you like, it doesn't match my shoes anyway [:D]

Thanks Guys, Continentals it is then! They're a good bit cheaper too. Breaks my heart as you all know I'd far rather be spening the money on soles for my feet than the car!

Would you put Continentals on your Boxster? I know that Porsche recommend Michelin's but these things are harder to get hold of than a Hermes Birkin!

Tyres are close to the brink![8|]

Pirelli P-Zero Rosso N4's on mine. Great tyre, grips well, quiet, cheaper, but not as hard wearing.

What size of Birkin, the 25cm or 30cm, Croc or Aligator with Silver or Gold hardware? Depending on type prices are anything from £3,550 to £8,000 a bit pricy but there is quite a selection of colours. Delivery dependant on spec required. Bill

Bill You had me convinced of your MetroSexuality there too!! I only long after a Hermes Birkin, as at upwards of £3k even I struggle to justify a spend like that on a handbag! AKx
