Car was in OPC Exeter for minor service etc. Spotted Black LHD GT3 sitting in the showroom with 'sold' on it. On enquiry discovered it was for a UK customer who did a lot of continental motoring so ordered a new, UK spec, GT3 with LHD. Never realised you could do that for a car that was to be UK registered from new.

As usual the tech staff at Exeter were superb and fixed some minor warranty points as well.

I am a fan of lhd, even in the UK.

Because? Is it because you tend to overtake a lot less with LHD and save yourself getting done for speeding?

No, I just like lhd for road use, although most of my cars are rhd.

On the earlier Porsches, the driving position and gear selection (up to 915) was generally better in lhd 911s. Apart from some car parks, no real disadvantages. Overtaking is only made difficult if you sit right behind the vehicle ahead.

On track, I'd argue rhd has an advantage.
