Any suggestion how I can shift the horrid flatttttttt spot at just short of 4000 rpm & maybe gain a little more umph ?? Thank you

Look to see which ECU chip you have - if it's the standard one, replace it with the Promax 7100ROW chip from Stu at K300 (www.968uk.com).

If the flat spot is as bad as you imply there's a fundemental problem. Get the timing checked and the Variocam unit all checked for wear and accurate setting up, and not least of all check the camshaft timing chain for wear and that all the teeth are on the camshaft sprockets (it has been know for these to loose a tooth)

My engine was standard untill a few years ago and the power and torque did tail off very very slightly but only for a split second, never could it be described as 'horrid' or 'flat'.

If you carry out my suggestions and replace any worn parts and set up the timing very carefully you shouldn't notice the problem too much. Only after that will a Promax chip be benifical, this will create a much more linear power curve.

Hope this helps - cheers

Peter
