unable to open door

Hi folks "" wonder if anyone can offer advice.. A week or so I had a problem with the driver's door..couldn't open from outside the car, but could using interior latch. Garage found a rod had become disconnected and rectified that. For the first time since getting the car back I now have a problem with passenger door "" when I press the button on the key fob I hear unlocking noises, when the door handle is lifted up the window falls as usual, but the door will not open. This time, however, the door cannot be opened from the inside..

Because you can't open it from inside or outside, I can't see it being anything other than the door lock mechanism itself. Unless of course both the outside handle link (your previous problem), and the cable link from the inside handle are broken. Somewhat unlikely though. The lock mechanism is about £80+vat, and about an hour-and-a-half to fit..

Hi Richard - thanks for that..actually I tried yesterday and the door was OK!! ..maybe I managed to confuse the car - a quick look at the manual suggests there are a number of different locking states..although I would have thought both doors would have been affected..
