Unbelievable spares prices

Naming sellers isn't any use, they'll just change to another profile. We need to educate people to check prices in order. PC first, then specialists for a new part price. If new is unavailable or silly money, look to the list of decent breakers before auction sites.

That's a classic example: more than the price of the new part from Porsche, for a used option that's hardly going to be perfect.
Just like the poor guy I spoke to many years ago who'd bought an un-broken used cassette box hinge for £40. I didn't have the heart to tell him they were £9 new.... []

Honest Alex would be really honest if he told you how much these cost from your local OPC.......

I ordered two of those from my OPC. A bag of 10 turned up. They said they would break open the bag and sell me just two. At 15p each I couldn't let them break it open. At £1.50 it was still one of my cheapest purchases! [] at £8.99 each, that is just a joke!

When I found it had the front bearing missing he sent me another starter immediately next day post ,for free.!
You can't beat that for service .
Mind you I did scratch my head a bit when I saw his price for used sills []
The problem with these used part sharks is that there are plenty of idiots willing to pay whatever price they see without making any checks whatsoever.
I see it daily in the classic motorcycle and scooter world. Frankly I think they pay what they deserve.., if they haven't the commonsense to do a little research first but it does drive the parts prices up for the rest of us as unscrupulous sellers scrabble like Piranna to make a fast buck

Likewise I have no problem with people trying to make a living by making a profit by buying and selling but I think it's emminently sensible that the 944 community keeps one another informed if they see any "rip off" pricing.
Haven't trader there since....
On another note..... I saw the dash screw covers also on eBay and was taken aback. I know the seller who I would rate as one of the best. Really great bloke very helpful and as of yet never left me feeling I'd paid too much for any item. There must be a reason for the price!?!

Bought loads of stuff off Mike, always reasonably priced and very helpful.
