I find this price unbelievable given the condition.

Have a look at the Pistonheads thread, big discussion about it.

it's not so bad.

You are absolutely correct, ridiculous. Did it actually sell or was it bidded up?
Do not understand why that price was paid when these cars can be money pits to get back to a good standard.
I suppose its good news for current owners if they want to sell , But surely this bubble will burst.

Just read the piston head blogg. Take my hat off to him. Looks like a good sale. If its the same garage, they did an awesome job on rebuilding my fuel head last year. Great service.

Had the Targa roof out today, what a great ride. Can't beat a Targa Turbo in the sunshine. Especially under 70 mph !!

Porsche Centres are doing a turbo refurb this year, so sounds like 2 centres bidding against one another??

No I have been posting on that topic, a chap has bought it with big plans stripped and dipped is his first move.

The 930 market in the last few years has just shot up. One that needs work sells for over £36k one that does not at £42k with a top end and gearbox just done 85 plate.

A/C Porsche's are holding up well, to other newer Porsche's you can buy a Boxster for under £5k now

I have mine valued for insurance at £40k.

I've just read the Pistonheads thread, and Jon sounds like a top bloke, very honest and clearly has a reputation worth protecting. I hope he keeps his health for as long as possible.

It would just frighten me to death paying that amount of money for a 930 which needs so much work. I paid £20K for mine 6years ago with a brand new MOT from my friends father who had owned it for 10years. It is very original, rust free, and has a FSH. It has still cost me over £10K since then in mechanical work with a gearbox rebuild as the only substantial single piece of work.

These cars need work to keep them working well. I suppose it is good that the owner wants to do the job right, my fear would have been that it would have been bought by someone without the necessary money to do the job properly and put it back on the market with bodged repairs to make a quick buck.

My insurance is due for renewal which currently has an agreed value of £25K! I'll be increasing that amount this year, who knows where we will be valuewise this time next year.

I could not afford to buy a 930 now prices have shot up far to much got my one in 07.
People who want one now, have found they are a car out of there reach money wise maybe.

Since around 07 and before, you could find a good 930 after a bit of searching around I did for around £20k or under.

I looked at 12 930's before, I got my one a lot turn up for sale worn out things people overlook are shocks, bushes, top end.

Then a owner has a choice spend money on it or sell it on which many do. The days of a good 930 at £20k are long over that is for sure.
