underbonnet clattering

for a while I've heard a light occasional clattering front drivers quarter.....cleaing it I noticed that the paint on the underside of the bonnet is chipped where I think its bumping on the large bolt thingy at the top of the suspension turret....I've got a strut brace fitted but does anyone else have any experince of this? Is it my suspension setting?

Sounds pretty nasty to me - maybe your suspension is loose and about to fall off ............... another trip to Autofarm required [&:]

Hi Jim. Can't say I have ever heard this noise and don't remember hearing it when I drove your car. If your strut brace is fouling the bonnet, be careful it doesn't leave a dent as the aluminum bonnet is very soft.

Regards

fourtunately F'oz its on the bonnet support strut/member thingy....so unlikely to damage the bonnet skin itself.........and there is no handling effect....had a good old rush round yesterday and the car went like a dream!

I AM getting these trackdays sorted honest....

Nasty when ur thingy 's coming off...............................last time i had a noise like that top turret mounting plaate had cracked and after an off at Donni actually split ................rare i believe

ooooohhh don't say things like that Vic.....rare sounds expensive?

I'm getting creaking from the front end at low speed/full lock and some bumping as thoughthe suspension coil is sliding over a lip.....when Autofarm set up the suspension they suggested it was grit in the top coil mounting. They suggested there wasn't much adjustment left in the dampers which suggests I may have to replace the dampers/springs at some point....hence I was contemplating swapping to Cup/Bilsteins at some point probably when the Disks, which are apparently too worn to re-grind, are replaced!

On the road/track pressing on its all good, but at low speed maneouvering its all a bit rattly!

IMHO creaking yes they all do at some time to larger or lesser extent ...............clunking or rattling inclined to have a longer look ................shud nt mention my name at Autofarm ,feud only goes back abt 20 years !!
I have the Bilstein sport susp [like 2 sets of springs per corner] is dat what ur thinking of ?cant imagine u can make a 964 rs any harder ??????
