Underneath the arches...

Hello all.

I'd like you all to look into your front wheelarches to see if your 924 has splashguards.

If I'm right then all the 2.0 models will have none and the 924S will have a front left splashguard and only then behind the front tyre.

If I'm wrong then please let me know.

Many thanks [:)]

I admit I haven't looked, but my memory tells me that there is a splashguard at the rear of the nearside front wheel arch which protects the charcoal absorption canister which is mounted right at the back.
Colin.

Thanks.

There are bolt holes but nothing listed on the parts list apart from thr 924S on one side.
I'm trying to see if there are any exceptions out there.

Isn't the canister a USA only item?

Hi Paul

My 924s has a guard in the passenger front arch, this is to protect the air intake, and stop any much from the tires being sucked into the intake. At the rear of the wheel arch, i have my charcoal filter (my 924 isnt an american import). On the driver side there is nothing, except my power steering radiator (well it a looped pipe really) and i guess the air flow needs to be allowed to move freely through the arch to cool the powersteering fluid.

Hello Paul,

The cannister is for helping the fuel vapour back into the fuel tank, thus if I am right to make the car more economical. I did have a 944S and that had splash guards in the inner front wings. My 924 or 924S has no splash guards. Where are the holes?
