I need to repair some rust patches under the car and would like to be able to replace the old Wurth underseal (which I beleive is the original specification ?) with new

does anyone know where to purchase Wurth products in the UK please, (have tried Frost but with no success)

Dude,
Whilst its a great idea to keep the original look body seal, there is one vital step you should do:-
USE POR15 ON ANY BARE METAL/RUST!!!!!!
Anything else is just a waste of your time & money.
Use the POR15 metal wash first, then coat with POR15, then coat it with your underseal.
Frost sell the POR15.
If you need further convincing; see Pelican, do a search for POR15!
Do your car a favour![:D]
 
On the 911, I recommend the following procedure (used to recondition a scraped and corroded fuel tank):

1) Remove old pvc underseal beyond edge of rusted area with a scaper aided by a hot air gun on a low setting.

2) Wire brush and/or sand off all loose scale, leaving no more than a film of corrosion.

3) Brush or spray on two full coats of Eastwood 'Rust Encapsulator' (which used to be known as 'Coroless'). You can get it from Frosts.

4) The messy bit. Mask up and spray two heavy coats of Teroson 'Terotex Super 3000' using a Schutz (spatter) gun. This product might be o/e (it's German manufactured) but it certainly reproduces exactly the texture and function of o/e flexible undersealing.

I have tried both POR 15 and Coroless but find the latter better in adhesion, performance and application. Unlike POR 15, the Eastwood product does not need the careful handling, special thinners etc. that makes POR 15 a pain to apply and so expensive.

Terotex 3000 comes in two colours - black and beige. I use the latter on my car and tint or overpaint to get the desired final colour. I have some spare litre cans and can supply PCGB members at cost plus p&p.

I have to agree with Peter. POR-15 products are the best I have used.

Sideways: when you renovated your tank, how did you treat the inside of the tank? I have recently used POR-15 US Standard Tank Seal and their tank kit. Marine Clean removed the gum, Metal Ready took the inside back to shiny bare metal and the seal provided a smooth silver finish. Very impressed.

You can use the standard black POR15 for fuel tank sealing/rustproofing.
I did mine with normal Por - having checked with the POR rep.

My experience of POR 15 has been mixed while the Eastwood product has always worked.

If you can't decide, use both and slap the POR over a coat of cured Rust Encapsulator (only kidding).

sorry, after reading what I posted, realise it was a bit criptic

I just meant what is "Terotex", I was told (perhaps wrongly)that Porsche used a product by Wurth for the underseal and I have not heard of Teroson 'Terotex Super 3000'

If Terotex is suitable to do the job, fantastic, I'll buy it from you, can I brush this on or does it come in spray cans
