Uneven revs

Hi,

Any idea what would cause uneven revs at tick over?

When the car is cold the revs 'hunt up and down' and when the engine is hot the revs are still not steady on tick over. The engine doesn't sound rough.

It's stalled a couple of times, but that is rare.

An air leak, perhaps? MAF? Variocam solenoid? Dirty throttle body? A sensor?

A diagnostic check would probably show up what is wrong, and that's the best place to start.
