Uneven Tyre Wear

My rear tyres are wearing badly on the outsides, which is not great. Running Asssimetrico's on 18" rims, I do 20 miles a day which is split country roads (I don't drive like a lune) & A3, no tracks (yet). Have read the forums on tyre pressures and run them at 42 which seems to be reasonable. The centres and insides are even and have several mm left but both ousides are wearing to almost balding! I presume (hope) that this is an alignment problem? I would normally buy tyres from Micheldever, would people trust them to do alignment?

Thanks, Jonathan,[8|]

Take your car up the road to GT1 at Chertsey (01932 569911/944 Craig or Peter) and get a full four wheel alignment done , but AFTER you have fitted new tyres. (Wraysbury Tyres, Chertsey 01932 570420 -Steve).

Don't forget to mention my name!!

Micheldever did a great job on my 993 but they can check the rear geometry but not correct it. My rear was spot on but the front was miles out. Feels great now.

Thanks for your help. Have spoken to Peter (GT1), certainly seems to know his stuff. Will book in when the tyres are defunct. From what he says I need to hope my suspension is o.k, here's hoping!

Jonathan.

If you work in Guildford, speak to Camtune in Godalming - they know their stuff and its only 5 minutes on the train - or you could get a courtesy car.

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick - It's Melv who gets the discount when you mention his name..[:D]
