Unfotunately Porsches do attract the birds...

I'm sick and tired of cleaning bird poo off my car. I park my car in the middle of my works car park with no overhanging trees or lamp posts and it is a very large carpark accommodating several thousand cars. So why is my car singled out as the local bird populations latrine? All the cars around me seem to escape but mine receives at least three or four hits a week while the cars around me seem to escape unscathed. Paranoia is starting to set in. I might have to start sentry duties armed with a shot gun.

Anyone else have this problem?

It is so a bird can go back to it's mate and say, "Hello Dear, crapped on a Porsche today, all over the bonnet" [:D]

Theory I once head which seem believable is that as a bird flies over a reflective surface it sees movement on the ground & craps itself ;)

Its because your car is red...

We all know red cars a crap..[:D][:D][:D]..Looks like the birds do aswell....[;)][:D][;)][:D]

I sympathise with you Scott [:(] we have a 6 foot hedge one side of our driveway. The birds nest in there, take off and unload their bomb bays on the bonnet all the time. Just keep the car regularly waxed and wipe it of as soon as you spot it. Keep a squirty bottle of water and some kitchen towel in the boot if needs be. Soak the towel and leave it to soften the crap before lifting off.

Im having to get someone to come and remove the old tv antenna from the side of my house due to the birds gathering there and craping all over the car and when i say all over i really mean all over ,probably gets about 100 ish hits in a week !!!

Just been outside to check, the car was washed yesterday at about 5pm and now by 11.30 am this morning it has been hit 21 times !!!

If it is 21 times by the same bird then assume he / she doesn't like your car. If on the other hand it is 21 different birds then it must be the general consensus of opinion about it.[:D]

Cheers,

Mmmm, I think i'll let the negative comments from people about Guards Red slip by on account of the fact the they are probably jealous as it is the truly classic colour for a 924/944/968!

Where live we used to have a neighbour that would put out bread for the seagulls and pigeons (some dotty old woman) in our driveway right in line with my car because they knew it would land its load on the car. I caught the person doing it once and asked her why she was throwing bread out to the pigeons and she said 'I'm not, I'm throwing it out for the birds' so when I pointed out that the only birds around here are pigeons she just said 'shutup you'll scare the birds away' and I said well I hope so because then it'll stop crapping on my car and apparently she couldn't give two turds about my car. Anyway she stopped doing it after she got crapped on by a pigeon when she was hanging up her washing

There is a product on the market for spraying your car and wiping off if you are at shows etc rather than giving your car a full wash might be worth getting some to keep in the boot? (or get a crow-scarer)[:D]

I must admit Fred when I heard of this stuff I didnt fancy it....however seeng the results was enough for me.

What do you do if a bird sh1ts on your car?

Not take her out again ... !

Ahhhh, the old ones are the best, eh ...

Oli.
