Unkown reservoir

996 TT. On the left hand side in the boot behind the servo and under the perforated black trim is a small reservoir which says 'mineral oil only'. Can anyone illuminate me as to what it is (not the servo,this much i know and not the clutch/power steering as that in the engine bay)

I'm stumped..anyone help ??
 
clutch fluid expansion resevoir, filled with pentosin....

should it ever start overflowing when you press the clutch then you will have a problem with clutch hydraulic unit on top of gearbox...

Mineral oil, or liquid petroleum is a by-product in the distillation of petroleum to produce gasoline and other petroleum products from crude oil. It is a transparent, colourless oil composed mainly of alkanes and cyclic paraffins, related to white petroleum.

I know, 'cos I looked it up on Wikipedia.

Remind me again rob what it is I like about you.....because it escapes me..[:D]

I am now happy in the knowledge that it is the second supply tank for the clutch actuating circuit.
