'Unlucky' 911 Turbo!

Having purcashed a Y Plate 996 turbo last August, I was really looking forward to the fun and excitment I would get in owning such a cool car. Little did I know that it would be the most unlucky car ever! The first thing is that everyone tries to race me. I get cut up all the time and people tail me even if im in the slow lane! Two months after owning it someone crashed into it casuing minor damage but a lot of hassle to get it all sorted with the insurance. Last month a purcahsed two new rear tyres. The next week someone slashed one of them!

The last straw however was last friday night when i was actually carjacked!! 5 thugs threatened me with a knife and I had to hand over the keys and they drove away with it. Luckily teh tracker was activated and so it was found in about 20 mins with no damage!

I have decided that I have to sell the car. Its just given me too much hassle and i need a fresh car which hopefully wont be so unlucky. What I would appreciate from other forum members is what kind of price I am likely to get. It has done 39500 miles. It is silver and it is in very very good condition. Has good specs including navigation, telephone, electric seats. Just a rough price will help me to get some idea.

Thanks.

p.s. should I buy another porsche???

Now that is Bad luck !!![]

Sure people try ot race you, but I've never had any of the others thank goodness...

garyw

...that is unlucky, did you buy private or trade? If private, try and see if you can get away with the price you paid in August maybe slightly less...

Sorry to hear about your problems. The general public will never like porsche drivers, and the turbo does seem do atract some tits, they tailgate, beep, gob, and flash there lights at you for no aparent reason. It realy is one of the bigest tit magnets in the world. But you have had some extrordinary bad luck for the first year of ownership. But I say Bol*cks to them azzholes, dont get rid of it. Easy for me to say I know, but think about all the mulling over and calculations and justification you did before you got it, just to have a bunch of azzholes put you off. Ive never been car jacked, it must be very nasty, but give it a chance even if just for another year, just so you can finally enjoy. good luck.

I purchsed the car from Porsche West London so I will go and see them and see how much they will buy it back from me for. Its probably gonna be a lot less then I expect. I got it for 52,000 last August when it had about 29,000 miles. It has now done 39500. I might have to try to get rid of it privately. By the way, where is the best place to advertise it?

At those prices I would not go near the dealer to sell. By reference I bought a 2003 (52) TT with 33k in January for less than you paid last August so your Y plate with 40k is unlikely to recover any where near what you paid (depending upon condition and extras - is it a X50 with all the toys?). I think all TT's came with electric seats and my personal view is that the sat nav and phone system on car of such age are of no real value as their current replacements are much better and cheaper. Given the developments in technology I would not buy a car with a sat nav system more than 2 years old and would want bluetooth functionality.

I would try the usual forum and Pistonheads to advertise.

Re should you buy another Porsche....well I would not sell the one you have. The TT is a fantastic package and instead of losing a fortune on selling it I would just drive it and hope your luck improves.....I hope it does!

I have had two turbos and very little of the trouble BUT i dont use them as daily drivers and am careful where i take them.. good luck!

The police called me today to tell me that the car is still in the pound waiting to be fingerprinted! They have had it for 5 days already and nothing has been done. The interesting point is that they didnt realise that the car is locked and I have the only key! (dont know how they expected to get in!). Anyways, I couldnt really wait any longer as I need the car on a daily basis for emergency calls. So I got it back today. Im praying my luck gets better!! (maybe im gonna give it another few months before I decide if I should sell it)

The Police," NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE"!! []

JUST HANGING AROUND FOR THE BIG FAT PENSION THE FAT PIGS.[]

Am I right in thinking that they hadnt got round to checking your car for 5 days for finger prints?[]
Plus this was a car jacking!

Disgusting.
