Hi, First post for me. I hope it proves useful to others.
I experienced a situation where, when trying to start the car, there was an apparent complete loss of power to all instrumentation and clicking from what I assumed was the starter motor solenoid. There could have been other relays operating or course. Anyway, long story short, two guys who have started (no pun intended!) a mobile Porsche servicing/repair business here in Dorset/West Hants/South Wilts called Bahnsport, came to my place and pretty quickly diagnosed the issue. It turned out to be the connection post that the positive cable from the battery attaches to the rear of the power distribution board. This is a mild steel post and was showing a fair bit of corrosion. Scott and James cleaned this up and cleaned the cable connector - a kind of arrangement of flexible 'petals' that fit over the post. The car started first time afterwards and has been a reliable starter ever since. Can't recommend them enough.
Regards,
Martin.
