Updates on my Sapphire Metallic

As i'm still using pushbike as my main transport, there's plenty of time to mess about with the car..so here's some jobs that i've started doing and have already done..
-Took out the old sound box and now making a new one (actually "refurbishing" the one i had in Alpine White) which will replace the upper part of back seats and has a 12" sub in addition of 4 6x9s..
-Removed air con..
-Replaced standard exhaust with power flow..
-Cleaned and sprayed exhaust down pipes, inlet manifold and AFM..they're now blue..
-Started the dash conversion from S1 to S2..looks like this will be a long job..loads of parts to be replaced..door cards, centre console, switches, instruments and other small bits..if anyone has done that, any advice or tips would be welcome..

Moving house at the end of this month..there's a decent size garage and a workshop in sight so i might come up with some other ideas soon..like an engine rebuild maybe..[:D]

My advice would be to buy an oval dash car (seriously !!) I did a conversion years ago and it was a nightmare, the heater box is different, steering column is in a different position, non of the wiring is the same colour, speedo is electric rather than cable (i retained the cable type),part of the dash needs to be cut at the side to fit the bulk head,i could go on but its not imposible and if you need any advice give me a shout !!

The oval dashboard actually sat in fine - no cutting needed as far as i can see now..thinking of leaving the old heater unit in and just modify the hoses..steering column doesn't look too bad..not sure about the instrument clutser yet..
I'll save the original bits anyway in case it won't work out..
I've had quite a few oval dash cars in past but as i've already put countless hours of work and money in this car, i just can't be asked to sell it and start all over..it's just an excuse to keep myself busy messing about..[;)]

Respect for the large amount of' 'messing about'!
Have you a digital clock too? My messing about involves spending the whole day travelling between scrap yards taking apart every digital clock thats close to the same size lookin to see if it has the same amount of contacts (16 top and bottom if i remember rightly) in the screen, how sad is that!! I still refuse to pay well over 50 dabs for a replacement that could bleed at any time. So far iv fitted one out of a ford. No time, just random lines that change every minute, there goes my monthly rant about clocks.

Quick! lol[:)] no actually, i get my cousin out in his diesel. [8|]. Anyway, the point is not to pay for something well overpriced that repeatedly goes wrong at anytime, im thinkin bigger picture.
