I`ve always loved Cup 1`s, they are the best looking wheel ever made in my opinion. I looked for forged alloys but never really saw many for sale and they looked too much like the D90`s which I have (had) which I do not like at all.

I managed to get some replica (Mille Miglia) 17" cup 1`s from a very nice man on this forum (Hi Rich) and to say I`m delighted is an understatement. They have (in my extremely biased opinion [;)]) finally brought the car bang up to date as far as it can be. Clear indicators etc will be the coup de resistance.

Alongside the lowered suspension I think it has improved the cars stance and looks. What do y`all think?

As bought..............................

Hi

Mmmmmmmmmmm thats an interesting one as the wheels came with nearly newish P7000`s on the front and Ecsta 452`s?? on the back ergo the increased turn in I`ve noticed could be the tyres.

I need to rag them on a track soon as I never ever experiment on the road.

Must admit my 19 yr old son came out with me for the blat and said lots more people were noticing the car with a couple of thumbs up from some youngsters.

Has it made any noticeable difference to the ride or steering feel? I'd be interested to read your opinion on the change on the track too when you get the chance.

Hey,

Looking good :) I still have the D90's on the turbo as haven't got bored of them yet and the tyres are good for a few more miles. I had Cup 2's on my 944S and always liked the look of the Cup 1's.

Riverside: When I changed my 15" teledials on the 944S to the 17" Cup 2's the difference was astronomical, much better turn in and less roll, steering felt more precise.

Cheers

Thanks Dave [;)]
Hilux's car, usage & upgrade path is similar to mine (but further ahead) so I'll be interested specifically in his opinion as I was with his suspension changes.

Hi Paul,
I have to say I really really like your painted door handles. The aero mirrors work well on your car and IMHO they look right due to the coloured door handles. I think I will have to get mine done when she goes in the paint shop. Like yourself IMHO the cup 1 is the best looking Porsche 17" wheel on a 951 body shape.

Good to meet you too.

Hope I have done the right thing selling the wheels, the car looks great - nice ride height.

Rich

Thanks all for comments.

I feel that they look right as the wheels now seem to fill the arches more

I`ll have to report back on the handling (at the limit) after a track day however the car does indeed turn in more although I cant think why. I`ll have the Promax boys check the set up soon (still working on fitting out our extension every weekend at the mo) as it might have changed the geometry slightly. Tyres are noisier although this is subjective but the tyres are firmer and `patter` more, presumeably down to the reduced aspect ratio so I need to soften the damping ever so slightly (I think).
