Upgrading stereo

I'm a few months into owning a 997.1 C2S and frustrated with the entertainment system. I knew the sat-nav didn't have a great reputation, but the FM reception is awful, maybe I've got used to DAB.

What I'd be looking for is; DAB / FM radio, bluetooth – sat-nav optional.

Has anyone else upgraded, I'm looking for suggestions to gauge options / costs.

What I did was get one of these little blutooth 4.0 FM transmitters and use my Samsung as the entertainment system for FM, Podcasts, Google navigation, iTunes, Spotify and so on. Never looked back. Works like a dream.

The FM transmitters can suffer with interference depending on your location. The PCM 2.1 was never that great new and Porsche's policy of charging £400 for map "upgrades" leaves a sour note! For me it would have to be a replacement head unit from Kenwood, Alpine or Pioneer.

Luckily things have moved on since the days of massive interference. Stick to 108 and you will hardly ever get any. Have used it maybe five years now and can't remember the last time it happened. Then again I live in London so not sure where you guys drive to and from. Cheap, works and keeps original look

There is another thread here that covers this subject in detail. Take a look at that one to get some ideas.
