For anyone looking for an uprated intercooler

Porsche 993 Turbo uprated intercooler by Schweizer Raceparts - BRAND NEW

This is a new and unused Schweizer intercooler for a Porsche 993 (911) Turbo. It has an 86mm deep, 4 series, matrix for the absolute maximum cooling performance - it is the biggest Schweizer do.

You will need an intercooler like this if you want to tune a Porsche 993 Turbo above 520bhp or so... and it should be good for 550-650bhp when used in conjunction with other modifications (it obviously won't produce this extra power unless other engine work, including remapping, is carried out).

It was bought for 1800 GBP plus VAT - over 2k - hence a realistic reserve price. If you know what one of these is, you will be able to grab a bargain.

Don't waste your monies on this IC.. The Schweizer core is horrible. It is a tube and fin with a very poor extrusion... The tubes extend 3/16" past the header causing turbulence. This IC is actually a step backward in performance compared to the stock unit..[FONT=verdana,geneva"]__________________

I guessed as much......I've never heard of an intercooler better than Porsches own - anyone know of one?

Most of the main USA sites seem to agree that the standard cooler is fine for up to 430bhp. Over that and they go for Andial Sport (which replaces the core with a larger core) or FVD and Cargraphic, which offer huge intercoolers which seem to take up all the remaining space available under the lid!
Have a look at www.993tt.com as a sample.

I've recently read on rennlist that the Cargraphic one is bigger but is not as good as OEM for reducing air temperature? - so it's all a bit confusing..... not that I've got more than 430bhp anyway!

John - do you have standard intercooler on your x50?

Yup, kennyboy. But if I went above 450bhp I would definitely upgrade both intercooler and oil cooler systems.
Somehow I don't think I will go any further. Me 66 year old reaction times would not allow it!
