Uprated Suspension on turbo

Hi Guys, Can suggest/recommend an uprated suspension package for my 90' turbo. I like the look and price of porscheshop's koni adjustable shock's and springs but other suggestions would be appreciated - especially for a lower priced supplier[;)].

Porscheshop isn't usually the cheapest, you pay fo convenience. Try shopping around and don't count out suppliers in the US perticularly with the current exchange rates. Lindsey Racing and Paragon are particularly good.

Leda, in Essex, do a bespoke solution for the 944, which has had good reviews internationaly. Porscheapart had a second hand set up for sale at Husbourne for about £400 but I would think this should be returned to Leda for rebuilding befor use.

Another worthwhile upgrade is changing the anti roll bars to 968 CS spec. All the parts are available from your OPC and it is a straight swap.

While you are about it don't forget to change the front caster mounts to the stiffer 968 units, also available from your OPC.

thanks John, I shall probably go for uprating the caster mounts if they need to be removed during the suspension change (and arent really expensive). Also can you recommend a workshop manual as im sure im going to be getting my hands dirty quite a lot if I do any more track days.

Cheers

You do have a few options available:

1. Just new shocks of the standard variety will make a noticeable difference. I replaced my S2 ones a few months ago after 140,000 miles and the car felt much better.

2. Koni do an insert for our standard front shocks that will stiffen them and provide you with adjustability. You do need to take a hacksaw to your existing shock which sounds awful [] but there is a good guide at www.paragon-products.com who sell the insert. You can also get the insert over here but I had trouble finding anywhere in stock. The Koni rear M030 shocks are very good value at around £60 from an OPC

3. Leda do a replacement system that includes shocks and springs for around £700. These have 24 point adjustability and I drove a car last month that had just had this done with 225 lb springs (you choose the rating). At point 4 the car felt nice and tight but not overly stiff for the road. At point 20 it was rock hard and you felt everything and discovered rattles that you never knew you had. Definitely one for a smooth track.
