Hey im supposed to be going to the rutland meet tomorrow but ive hit a hurdle. I stopped to pump my tyre up and when i started it back up and switch the main beams on the lights came on, but they didnt pop up, then when you switch them on the dash lights stay on all the time now, i dont wanna miss the meet i hope someone can help so i can look at first light

cheers in advance

mark

Mark, I think I read it right! If you have main beam on when you switch the lights on they don't pop up. You need to either switch main beam off with the lights on or failing that switch all the lights off, pull the stalk back and then put them on again.

Are we thinking of the same Rutland mate? The one next to Stamford with the big lake. Where is the meet then? I spend most of my time in Stamford so would be interested in coming along some time.

Hi Rob Yes the one next to Stamford - meeting 11.30 ish at the watersports carpark (Rutland Belle) Whitwell, for a chat and tyre kick , and on to Empingham for a bite and pint Be great to meet you if you can make it. Mike edit - not a club do or anything, just an excuse for a winter drive!

Hi Mike, No can do tomorrow mate as I am seeing my kids. Would love to come along to future meets though. Are there regular dates or are they just arranged adhoc?

Bring them too! Just an idea from someone a while ago! The Club does organise various things, in regional or register (type) format, but you can generally go to any you fancy. Some of my region are of to Stamford in February for a run out and a meal. Mike

Keep an eye on the "events" sticky. Most events are Club events, and being a member does make owning a 944 a whole load more fun [;)], but many are open to non-members or, like Rutland, just an informal get-together with a few of us meeting up because someone had an idea and posted it.

ORIGINAL: robwright When you say events sticky do you mean the one on the home page mate?

i think i explained it badly, i earlier tried to pull the fuse for dash lighting and rear number plate lighting to stop it from draining over night, it did nothing, surely this means the switch has broken and hence this circuit is running off of another ciruit. i.e directly of the head lights, i didnt pull them too as i didnt wanna hang about, still gonna check it in the morning. if i can wind the lights up and it starts ill go to the meet, shame my missus is 150 miles away with my sat nav power cable though.

Hi This sounds like what I am experiencing [link=http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=523167]http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=523167[/link]. I have spent yesterday and most of today trying to track down the problem. So far I have found that if Fuse 2 (headlight motor power) is in place the ignition 15 relay is activated, which lights up the dash, and drains the battery. If I remove fuse 2 everything is OK, apart from the headlight motor. It looks like fuse 16 had blown (this is for the raise headlight switch), and I raised the headlights manually which in some way has caused the issue now evident. I did not realise that before raising the headlights manually you shoud remove the fuses. My working hypothesis is that raising the headlights has fed back to somthing. I plan to chack the hazard switch, headlight switch and possibly the ignition switch. Anthony
