Is the badge panel from the 924S the same as the 944 lux/S ?

looking at this one one to replace my badly dented one.

1985 model year and earlier 944s have a weld on badge panel and series two onwards cars (1986) use a bolt on part. A bolt on badge panel can be fitted to a car that orogonally had a weld on part. In fact: this is the only part that Porsche can supply now, same as the bonnets...

So a welded one won't go onto a 944 without drilling some holes or is there more to it than that ?

Looking at the right hand pic I can see a line of holes along the edge, which seem to correspond with the 4 holes on my current knackered panel I guess this is where the spot welds have been drilled.

The 924 / 924S / series one 944 part wont properly fit onto a later car. You can fit the later type to an early car though and ita all that Porsche are able to supply now (along with the bonnets as I mentioned in my deleted post, if you saw that).
