US 1968 2.0 - Researching history

I have recently purchased a great restored 1968 912 from Canford Classics. There is no pre-import history on the car with the exception of the registration document of the last owner (whose garage it had sat in for years). I wondered if anyone out there knew of a mechanism for obtaining any details of the history of the car (in terms of ownership/ where first supplied etc)? I have tried the Porsch Club in the US, however they have stated that they do not hold such information.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated[:)]

Hi Toby

I would suggest you contact to owner that you refer to in your post. You may get a response and that would give you a starting point. If you become a Club member you can also benefit as you can obtain a "certificate of authenticity" free of charge from Porsche Cars UK. An immediate saving against the cost of Club membership and a nice addition to the cars history stream.

Good luck

Have fun

Hi Toby,

Did you realise your user name is an email address? Not the best thing to use as it's open to the public here.

If you drop me a message I can change it to something you'd prefer, and that would be more secure. [:)]
