USB Marketing

Did anyone else get their USB stick with marketing on it from Porsche cars ?

Nice attention to detail and a novel way for them to market..
It certainly wasn't the normal cheap plastic USB stick we sometimes get given [:)]

No [:'(], is this the one that looks like a Porsche key fob?

I did receive an invite to the Solihull Christmas event, but not sure that this is worth the 60 mile round trip.

hi
Yep got mine today but ive had my gen 2 for a month now!! Im certainly not looking to replace it just yet[;)]

Nope. But I am sure that OPC Sutton Coldfield have forgotten that I am (worse luck) a customer. No contact initiated by them - of any kind (except the mail shots trying to sell a 111 point check on a car that is 12 months old) - since I drove away from the showroom. At the risk of sounding like a broken record - OPCs generally seem to have a lot to learn about customer service and relationship-building, maybe a closer tie-up with a decent dealer network, such as that operated by Audi, would improve things. I get more contact from Chester OPC than Sutton Coldfield and as I am half way between the two I will try them for my next Porsche.

Yep got mine Garry,

Unfortunately despite the looks, its a pile of junk! I tried to launch it on both my windows XP laptop and Apple imac, and on both machines it came up with a Flash media error.
I even downloaded the latest flash 10 to see if that would help, to no avail... []

Totally counter productive.. and a waste of all the packaging..

Still on the bright side Swindon OPC got me on a half day experience at Silverstone tomorrow to try out the new C4S.... Looking forward to it.. So perhaps I will forgive them for their rubbish USB stick [:)]

I haven't even plugged mine in yet..

I think the only reason I was sent it was the fact I have just had the car in for a two year service, so possibly bumped me up the mailings list.
I've got the invite for a evening event as Allan mentioned, but it'll just be the usual junk.. although I may then get an invite to Silverstone as I haven't been invited yet [:)]

I'd be interested to hear if your USB stick has the same problem...

I think if you express an interest in buying a new car at the moment, you have a good chance of getting an invite to Silverstone... [;)]

Just tried it and unfortunately worked perfectly-ish ( a few small jutters on the video playback)

Quite a bit of nicely shot video for the marketing, but interestingly includes a video of a full lap around the Silverstone experience [:)]

I might pop along on the 4th then and explain that I'd like a new car... they are also offering to gift wrap any presents I buy on the night [8D]

Mine worked, but what a disappointment, utter crap a red porker driving round a circuit with a very annoying tyre squeal. Or maybe it was the driver, any way very amateurish and certainly would not make me want a test drive [:'(]

oops, just seen a mod thought it was good, do I get sin binned [:D]

Seeing as you're so disappointed with it Graham, I'd be happy to pay the postage if you were kind enough to post it on to me? [:)]

This usb pen is not the same as the key shaped usb.

Actually I think it looks nice.

The blurb on it is as you would expect, an interactive video.

I am surprised that it needed to be sent in such a big box though! The cost of the box and postage could have gone to something else (dont ask me what - but I am sure many would have ideas on how Porsche could spend extra funds at there local OPC!).

It will make a nice keyring!

Its just a shame I brought the key shaped usb at the Kent club meet last month. I must find the box for that and rap it for someones Christmas present!!!

yes, got one from East London OPC. It looks good. Metal with a leather strap for the click on socket cover. Not plugged it in yet, but I understand it's a 512mb one with a load of marketing vids.

Yes, 512mb, so slightly more usable than the free 128mb you sometime get given...[;)]

Graham, I possibly enjoyed it as its the closest I've been to the track, I looked at it in a production term rather than full content...in which case I want to drive the roads they filmed the main content on [:D] in the same sunshine please!!

Mine is fine, though it is only 2 GB. I need at least 4 GB for my CD tracks. Bit expensive also

Derek, we could be on about different things here.. the marketing ones are Stainless steel and leather bound.. and free

I assume you're on about the one that looks like a keyfob and is expensive.

Mine arrived an hour or so ago. Does anyone recognise the roads?

Hi Gary, maybe I am being a bit jaundice, was told by my dealer that myself and son would be invited to the new track at Silverstone, at the time I was buying a 997 Turbo. The visit has not happened. Very bad form []

I thought every new owner got an invite to this now?
I'd get back on to your dealer...
