Hi there,

Thats better........
thanks to Tony Corlett i was invited down to longcross test track near Chobam today to take part in a 12 page feature on every incarnation of 911. took my '85 carrera 3.2 and certainly held its own in company comprising of an early 2.2,SC, 2.7 RS,club sports,930 turbo,964 RS,993 and new 996 GT3 and carrera 4S,both of which were free to drive round the track and on the concentric circles which is basically a big skid pan.
Absolutely fantastic day(well apart from one thing, see 'clutch judder' ) especially as they were looking for the 'ultimate' porsche, one that captures the 911 experience entirely and a realistic car to buy and run and the 3.2 came out tops..!!!
Magazine should be Oct or Nov issue.
Will try and post a few more pics.

Cheers

Dave

Cheers

Dave

An outstanding day... [;)] agreed, however a cup of tea in the afternoon would have been just the job. However, we suffered the most unreal, and seriously dangerous flooding on the way home.

It was a scene from hell - I have never (ever) driven any car ever, in those conditions.

And... I got lost....[>:]

...with the map in the luggage compartment....[]

I'm sure I'm supposed to learn these things, but 15mins after we left we were having a quiet beer in a local pub, and apart from the odd spots, it looked perfect.

Hi Hugh

Its going to be in the October or November issue of Used Car Buyer Magazine. Should be a good one as they are doing a 12 page spread on every type of 911. With the 3.2 coming out as the best buy. [:D]

Dave.
