Using my 3.2 through the winter.

Dont really want to store the 911 away all winter.
Any advise on using the car in winter?
Have always not used my Porsches through the colder months, but i think its a waste, and am sure they dont like being stored away for a few months!

Andrew.

Don't use it after the roads have been salted, until a decent amount of rain has washed it away.

Even if dry, it gets everywhere as a fine dust then waits for moisture to do its evil work.

Mine remains taxed throughout winter, and gets an occasional run on dry days.

I used my 3.2 carerra all year round in the US (New York State/Connecticut) and the only recommendation I have is to fit proper winter tyres. The only time I failed to make it home was when I stayed in the office too long as a snow storm was starting. Had to abandon the car half way home as the summer tyres couldn't cope.
My only criticism is that is a really cold car and would take ages to warm up, particularly when it was 10-12 below zero!
Here in the UK I also use it year round, as long as there isn't a lot of salt about. Few better experiences than a cold clear day driving through the Highlands of Scotland.

I tend to run the hose pipe over mine when I get home on the salty days, especially on the underside. One year the salt had formed like stalactites(not sure if that is spelt right) on the oill pipes around the engine...

Just for extra peace of mine maybe worth having the underside waxed, It's the salt that a killer so every little bit helps, otherwise drive and enjoy as normal

Regards

PS worth having a good screen cloth to help dimist on a cold morning, heating isn't the best when it comes to clearing the screen
