Vacuum Hose Kit

Google doesn't return much, anyone have an idea as to where get one from. I'm sure Promax used to do one but since there website changed finding anything is an absolute chore.

Just buy some silicon hose and some small tee pieces from your local motor factors and do them yourself mate simples [:)]

Yep Silicon hose pretty cheap per metre, google it, i think Bailey Motorsport sell it quite cheaply and they will also have the required T Pieces.

Outside diameter is approx 10mm and inside 5/6 mm buy 5 metres as it is cheap enough, mine are secured using crimpde O rings available through RS Online or trade counter if there is one near you.
Cheers Jim.

The Lindsay Racing kit is what Promax sell (or used to when I got mine). Was a good price at the time back when the dollar was 2 for 1. I seem to remember that Rick Cannell did a pressure test on the silicone hoses and found them to bulge when pressure was applied - can't remember what pressure it was, but the inference was that the silicone hoses are probably a bit too soft for higher boost applications and a more stiff and stronger hose would be more appropriate.

Another nice bit of kit that was popular on Rennlist is a small manifold. This means you don't have to route all your pressure lines around the engine as per the way they currently are and that all pressure lines come from one manifold. It minimises joints and hence opportunities for leaks, minimises the length of hose used, tidies up the engine bay and makes it easier to trace any boost leaks. From what I could gather from a photo of one it was just a short length of aluminium square or rectangular section bar with a blind hole drilled down its length. At the end was the pressure input from the Banjo bolt take-off and there were 5 holes drilled and tapped along two of the long sides where pressure take off points could be taken. A nice little project for someone who want to make one.

I just ignored the standard set up and did it as I saw sensible. As long as everything traces back to the small outlet on the back of the inlet manifold all should be fine. I have silicon hose 6mm internal with standard plastic tee pieces. Each joint secured in place with miniature cable ties. A lot neater and more reliable than the standard setup. Might change them in the future though for some nice red ones to match the paintwork. Seriously though your local motor factors will sell it even cheaper as chips and the tee pieces. Never had any trouble with mine. Just make sure it is temperature rated for the engine bay.
