vacuum tank

I suspected my varioram wasn't working on a recently purchased 993.

having checked all was fine in the engine bay, I went under the arch to find the vacuum tank.
It appeared to be split around the single fastening bolt and I wasn't sure how tight the rubber connection should be which slots into the tank, before the plastic hose goes off to the engine bay.

Having removed the part, i have attempted a make shift repair with silicone sealant, i will let this set overnght before re-fitment.

Has anyone else attempted such a repair? with any success.

Any idea how much a replacement tank/hose would be? I called the OPC but they were busy and obviously never called me back having left a number.

Cheers!

Seems ok so far Maurice, I used 2 pack epoxy to fill the small split as reccomended by those fine fellows on rennlist in the end.

Even if yours holds for a couple of days....surely that is enough for the v/ram to work effectively?
