Making enquiries for a day out clay pigeon shooting to celebrate St. Valentines Day Massacre (hence the pun in the title) on Sunday 14 February 2010. Would anyone be interested?? Discuss further at December meet. Approximate prices so far are £25 per person for 25 clays. Could be a good laugh!!
Unfortunately only hot/cold drinks available so may have to bring picnic
Venue is Brandesburton YO25.

John

Thanks for this idea. As you suggest, we can discuss it in more detail at our meeting in December and in the meantime I'll add it to the list of forthcoming events in Porsche Post.

Sorry I was late to the meeting yesterday evening. Update on clay pigeon shoot. If interested I need definate numbers by January meeting (but please let me know on here asap so I can prebook) and money at February meet. Price is £25 per person for 25 clays. The price includes gun, shells, clays and ear defenders. Date is Sunday 14 February 2010. Venue is Brandesburton which is north west of Beverley on the Bridlington road. No refreshments as yet but will obtain times and if morning shoot then how about Sunday lunch (I'll make enquiries if you are interested).
Regards and Merry Christmas from us both (stay sober)

UPDATE - I am arranging the shoot for 9.30am start (rather than afternoon due to early nights) Have provisionally booked a table at Nags Head, Routh for Sunday lunch around 12ish. Price is £10.95 on a 2 for 1 basis (£5.50 each). Will need numbers asap and as mentioned previously, £25 per head for the shoot payable in advance as they need to book the instructors. Don't know if only a couple are interested or many more so on that basis I need numbers for the shoot and lunch asap. We could meet up at Humber Bridge viewing area at 8.45am then on to the shoot for 9.30am then lunch at 12. Does that sound ok?? (if too early I could add 1/2hr on but need to know.
Merry Christmas

Great to catch up with everyone at the Xmas Dinner last night. I now have 5 definate couples for the clay pigeon shoot, although only the guys seem to be brave enough to risk a broken shoulder. Still not too late to book as not paying until after the next meeting on 3rd Feb. If you want me to book then I will need £25 per person for the shoot (lunch payable at the pub). I think to meet up at Humber Bridge viewing area at 0930 then 1/2 hr drive to Brandseburton (YO25 8RY) for 1030 start then 10mins to Nags Head, Routh (HU17 9SL) for lunch at 1230.
See you all at Feb meeting.

Hi all. Don't forget your monies tonight for the clay shoot (£25 per person) Still not too late to book if you haven't already. Ladies - don't worry, you can have a smaller bore gun so won't break your nails/shoulder!! Just bring your money tonight and I'll book you in but must do this by the weekend. Will be a great morning shoot and I've arranged Sunday lunch nearby also. See you all tonight. John

The shoot is at Humberside Shooting Ground (YO25 8RY) for 10 am. 7 of us shooting which should take a couple of hours then lunch booked for 1200-1230 at Nags Head, Hornsea Rd. Routh (HU17 9SL). See you all Sunday

Thanks for organising this John, a really enjoyable day. Perhaps we'll come in the Porsche next time [:)]

We all really enjoyed it today- despite the cold. Thanks for organising it John.
Couldnt be bothered with curtains when we got back so had a Kronenbourg induced snooze for an hour then washed the 911- got to get your priorities right havent you!

Cheers,

Chris

I'd like to add my thanks to John for organising the day. Even my shoulder feels ok today. Nags head was far better than our instructor hinted it might be (but then he is barred from there).

Thanks

Glad you all enjoyed it. Must do it again when the weather improves but think pistol shooting may be easier on the arms next time! Chris, have sent a write up to Mark for Porsche Post but photos look a bit blurred so if you could send your pictures as they looked a bit better (but do the curtains first though!!)
See you all next meet.
