Valuation Advice - 944 Cab

Best thing is to go and see it and drive it, but from the description it 'sounds' ok. A few missed services though and no mention of the cam CHAIN and tensioner.

A very good Cabrio should be around the 9k-10k mark in my view, an excellent one even more. The trouble is there are getting to be so few good cars left anymore and a lot of dogs that people describe as good [:(]

This looks like an aftermarket conversion, the cabriolet was not available in 1984. Also this wold not be an oval dash model.

Classifieds in Purely Porsche and 911 Porsche World mags have had a few cabs in, mostly Turbos recently.

Bought my car off ebay - my 924 had gone wrong one too many times, lost my rag, saw a pretty picture and and no. plate had initials of my fav. footballer so just had to have it. Have got it. Description on ebay not 100% accurate. Micro blistered wing? Zits the size of Blairs gog- needs replacing. recently serviced, that's why it idols at 650 and leaks oil. Yeh, oil changes and a bit of grease slapped around. Going to cost a bit to get her up to scratch, but no regrets.

If you sell on ebay you plug all the good points, and ignore the stuff you find out after posting a positive feedback.

If you are an implusive air head blond who must have - buy it. Otherwise go and look at it and take one of those professional inspection people with you.

But if you really want it you'll buy it anyway.Common sense and cars have as much in common as Posh & Becks!

There are a few on Pistonheads (as usual).

S2 Cab within your budget with leather and some lovely refurbed Cup1 17"s. [:)] HERE

Turbo cab outside your budget JUST HERE. No pics (?) but will send you some if you email.

And a "concours" S2 cab for a little more than you plan to pay OVER HERE

It's a tip though

I thought it looked rather good, so went back and had another look after reading the above comment. Still looked pretty neat..... tip? tip tip tip ......oh tiptronic... doh! Beer during lunch must have kicked in.

I note that Boxsters are now mixing it with the top end S2 Cabs price wise (circa £10k) and the four top priced 944s on autotrader are S2 Cabs at over £11k with 10x 968s under £10K.

Even saw a 1989 911 at less than £10k, which puts it in the S2 age range. [/blockquote]
